Yes, so? So it’s fine to for literally no reason forcibly limit it? Just because old people don’t need 1tb phones doesn’t mean we should just make all iPhones 256mb phones.

We need more places offering the same upload as download so people can do these things from home. Here I know spectrum only offers like 10mb upload even if you’ve got like 3gb download.

Fair, I suppose I understand the idea but like… idk I can think of MANY reasons (patent bullshit, could be useful, or prove to be cheaper, or developed further into something better) why having something similar to an already existing process is still good. Look at Sodium batteries potentially now being 10% of the cost of lithium ones, even if they’re a similar but generally worse storage technology. I don’t think it should be a requirement that a new process or discovery have an inherent reason/advantage. Shit like that is how we end up with leaded gasoline.

sounds like saying “we already have a lung in our body why make an iron lung.”
Like I know obviously it’s not like plug this into your spine and cure paralysis but I could definitely be very useful.

Who could’ve guessed completely unregulated synthetic nicotine in a capitalist hellhole could lead to poisoning people.

I believe from when I read it the other day they’ve got their calculations and they should be testable in a few years (new colliders or whatever else that are being built currently should be able to confirm their calculations)

Okay I maybe exaggerated a bit, but a lot of people think it actually knows things, or is actually smart. Which… it’s not… at all. It’s just pattern recognition. Which was I assume the point of showing it can’t even beat the goddamn Atari because it cannot think or reason, it’s all just copy pasta and pattern recognition.

I think that’s generally the point is most people thing chat GPT is this sentient thing that knows everything and… no.

It can be an issue with the people starting these challenges while also being an issue with the way tiktok works with sharing these copycat videos on the platforms algorithm.
I don’t think “omg tiktok bad” but in the case of these dumb challenges, it is one of the few things I can see people actually pointing at when saying tiktok is bad, rather than “but china.”

Yes but without tik tok this is a kid or two being stupid and charged a couple hundred at one school. I think we had 3 kids today at school destroy their laptops.

“you’re not a leftist unless you have daddies money to support you wasting 100 hours on a 20m video.” Certainly is… a take. But anyways, I’m not even talking about being leftist or not or whatever. I just mean, people. Period. It’s not selfish to want to get paid for making something. People need money to live.
Are there content creators who fucking suck? Yes. But there’s also ones that don’t. They’re allowed to make money.

I mean, sure but we are past that. No large YouTuber will give up getting paid, and go to a system with a much smaller user base so even stuff like affiliate links and sponsorships are worth less. Basically double lose money just to join peertube. Especially since most large YouTubers have a team of people who they pay, so they cannot afford for their employees sake to take such a large loss just to support peertube.
More likely this leads to Vimeo, or like twitch TikTok or something else being able to support a normal video platform than it leads to people using peertube.
… does America even manufacture routers?
