So does Windscribe

IMO this doesn’t pass the smell test for average joes, especially with wildfires increasing in frequency

Very interesting seeing how Pete Hegseth’s philosophy of “maximum lethality” ran its course, and yet…
Seems like a complete miss. I’m reminded of this recent Atlantic article…
Donald Trump does not think strategically. Nor does he think historically, geographically, or even rationally. He does not connect actions he takes on one day to events that occur weeks later. He does not think about how his behavior in one place will change the behavior of other people in other places. He does not consider the wider implications of his decisions. He does not take responsibility when these decisions go wrong. Instead, he acts on whim and impulse, and when he changes his mind—when he feels new whims and new impulses—he simply lies about whatever he said or did before.

People live in places that are pleasant. It’s why Silicon Valley billionaires threatening to leave California over the proposed wealth tax is ridiculous. It would take decades to move the industry and talent pool out of there. Plus the tax is based on where they lived on Jan. 1, 2026, so they’re already on the hook.
Couldn’t it get flagged and manually reviewed leading to a ban?

Knowing what you’re watching on the screen is different than what you’re saying out loud near the TV or remote. Plus almost all TVs can run without an internet connection too, which renders this concern somewhat null

There’s no need for uploading a constant audio feed or transcript (something that would be easy for researchers to detect in the network logs) to show you an advertisement like that.
Your phone knows all the things you wrote in the post, namely: your location, that you are physically with those friends, the wifi network, the search history of everyone there. Because of all that metadata, advertisers probably know you were playing a TTRPG, maybe even the specific one
I prefer Windscribe

With green card holders actively being targeted now and birth rates low, we can expect U.S. population growth to dry up. This has a ton of negative economic impacts that will be felt long after Trump is dead. And it’s liable to be exacerbated by severed international relationships and an increase in movement away from U.S. companies

They have an API for checking passwords I believe

As I understand it any carrier could break at any time. The Graphene team isn’t prioritizing fixes because it’s not E2EE

Doesn’t work properly on Graphene OS most of the time

How is it the most effective option? They seem to cover less sites than others

I’d argue it’s different in the case of Pixel phones. In that case they’re controlling nearly 100% of the phone experience which probably allows them to maximize data collection

I’d argue it’s already a small minority of users. Any change is very likely to be negative
That would severely cripple remote work/collaboration, which is essential for all megacorps. Unless there’s some sort of carve out for that I don’t see it happening

If files were easily accessible between profiles, wouldn’t that harm the privacy of having multiple profiles?
Direct quote: “10 years ago, Republicans were the party of big business and Dems stood for the little guys, but today the tables have completely turned.”
This is laughably incorrect. Then he turned around and repeatedly said his statement was politically neutral.
