Self hosting email goes in one of 3 directions:
The issue, especially with real-time communications, is that you need infrastructure in global positions. They need to be close to people, they need to have high bandwidth. These are things that are really complicated both financially and legally. You have to have legal representatives in all kinds of countries, so it is much more than just the infrastructure, which is the servers and the data centers and that is why AWS and other cloud providers do make a lot of sense for small or low revenue companies.
Self-hosting really makes sense when you’re very small or very large but the intermediate position does make a lot of sense to use cloud providers and that is why this model did succeed.
That really depends on the safe but for the most part it should be. It would probably ruin the safe as the inside is probably not fire resistant but also the fire would probably choke out as the safe should be airtight. As for signal penetration, again depends on the safe but I believe that most safes have some layer of thick metal, which should block all signals.

I doubt it can make phone calls, it has no audio input or output, so I won’t trust that.
A lot of these devices say that they can make phone calls because they have the functionality but they don’t support any audio.
That is why I specifically said “study”
Anecdotal evidence is meaningless, show me a study that proves a causal link between government surveillance and public safety.
As the one making the argument, show me a study that supports that.
Depends on you local job hunting culture and your own work social networks.
If you are a person that has many work related connections and you have a large offline network, you could probably get a job through that way easier. But if you are not big on maintaining social networks like that and you don’t have many connections, then you probably will have a hard time finding jobs otherwise.
There is a middle ground where you open a LinkedIn account with none of your real information. You use it to find jobs and every job you want to apply to you go to the site of the actual company and apply through an email or whatever form they might have on their website with your actual resume. The disadvantage there is that some companies expect you to have a LinkedIn and might actually skip your resume if you don’t, also it is more work, and one actual advantage of LinkedIn is that you can keep a large work social network without having to maintain anything as you can always dm an old connection and it wouldn’t be as weird as calling them up.
Personally, I take the privacy L and have a real LinkedIn profile.

I don’t see how it addresses hallucinations. It’s really cool! But seems to still be inherently unreliable (because LLMs are)
Tested it a year ago, worked so easily that it scared me so I disabled it (butt dial got nothing on butt factory reset)
The only reason people think it is private is because for a long time it refused to corporate with governments (which is why plenty of criminal activity happens there)
It is about the least private option of all modern messaging apps (literally not e2ee, which means that the server owners have potentially full access to all chat content)
The only thing that makes it special is the bot support.

But if you really really want to, go to IT well prepared with all the changes you want to make and see if they allow it.
