It’s possible, but feels unlikely, at least in my specific situation. I would wager I am the only person I know on Lemmy. Friends have similar political views, but then some family do not, still comes up. Video game friends/acquaintances are similar in age, not same views, comes up very often. Then coworkers are not the same age at all, and it comes up there often as well. Not denying it could be, just 3/3 on what feels like different populations/demos had me anecdotally feeling otherwise

My recommended is decent but every now and then it’ll try to throw some weird shit in there. Loves recommending me off-shoot Fox channels because I have the main one blocked. Seems like every few months it pops up. But yeah, I get a lot of MTB, Motocross, and OSRS stuff cause it’s what I tend to watch. Some random car YouTubers (Rob Dahm ILY) and random video essays about interesting stuff.

It’s not even a nostalgia thing; it’s a “me and my friends are hungry and the option is 4 pizzas from Little Caesars or 1 pizza from local place”. No one is trying to impress anyone, we’re all friends, we want to hang out for as long as possible. No one is bringing gourmet pizza to the creek to hang out, no one is bringing heirloom tomatoes and organic arugula and garlic infused olive oil pizza to a college football tailgate for $35/pizza. We’re getting shitty pizza from Domino’s, shitty lite beers, and we’re gonna freeze half to death playing cornhole in a parking lot and have a good time doing it lol

Brother I’m not saying I enjoy Papa John’s more. I’m saying I’m not bringing finely aged wine to drink in the garage while I listen to Creed. This is the guy that brings 4 of the most disgustingly conceived IPAs to a party, drinks one of them, and then wants Coors Lite from the cooler on someone else’s dime. Dude bringing a 4" personal pan pizza from Napolitano Italiano and wants to split it across 5 friends, only $15/ea for the pizza, and you get 2 bites of it. Dude wants the most memorable part of the night to be a slice of pizza and not hanging out with his friends.

Lmao I enjoy it plenty enough. I just don’t enjoy it the way they insist I enjoy it. If I hated the food, I wouldn’t buy it? But if I’m grabbing a pizza or 2 for the boys to drink in the garage, I don’t need to spend $45 on the local place when Papa J is half the cost. I don’t get twice the enjoyment it if it.

Surprising deal, I know. 2 pizzas and bread sticks for a sporting event Sat and it cost me $22 including delivery (not tip tho cause I spoil em). Kinda surprising cause usually they’re just as expensive as local place is.

Most lost account stories I come across now start with “I didn’t get around to 2FA yet”. At least for the important accounts, idk if I’m sweating 2FA on the Papa John’s App. I do got some Papa Dough tho…
