  • Convinience is a key part. Let’s say I have bought a new device and have 50 accounts on different platforms. The way I’d do with only passkeys is that you would create 50 different keys individually for your new device, using a device that has logged in.

Password manager? I download a keepass compatible app, have it connect to my FTP for its database, enter my unnecessarily long key word or a random file i store seperately; and now I can access to all of my accounts.

As long as I do not somehow get both my database and its key word/file leaked at the same time, my accounts are as safe as whatever passkeys can provide.

  • I must admit, i just read the sidebar, didn’t proceed further to the thread.

Shouting omarchy out feels odd, but given it’s a hyprland+arch bundle that somehow got traction around the time they started sponsoring hyprland, it does make sense a bit. The critisizm on that part is justifiable

Tho I’m not sure which users does omarchy even target, like who even wants a standardised setup while on arch+hyprland? Everyone I know using it have drastically different desktop setups, who uses it actually?

  • If the GPU is heavy, consider carrying it seperately. Carry it with an ESD pack

If you have any HDDs, absolutely carry them seperately.

If you’re sure the SSD’s won’t move away in their place, having them on pc shouldn’t cause any problems; but keeping them on your personal belongings is the safest option.

Rest of the components should be fairly safe to ship, maybe the case in weird shapes could cause some trouble; but if you have the foam the case came with chances are it’s not going to cause much problems.

  • If you’re advertising your platform as kid-friendly; you need to ensure proper steps are done to protect them. Roblox, a billion dollar game platform has failed on this. Let’s say you’re a responsible parent. Your kid asks you GTA 5, you check its age rating and say no.

Your kid asks to play Roblox. You look up, see the game advertises itself as safe for children and find about parental controls for concerned parents, create your son an account using it, setting proper age restrictions. Later on, you find out your kid got groomed by someone he met on Roblox, even though you set proper precautions. Is it your fault for not helicopter parenting your son that he got such a traumatic experience, has Roblox done nothing wrong here? I don’t think so.
