I tried it years ago, it looks more mature now but I’m so used to Safaris “Hide distractions” feature that I’m missing it dearly after less than an hr of trying it out :(

Think of the inventory space from unsold Airs could have been spared without the bump! Apple logistics in shambles

Biggest selling point of Ultra watches and Pro phones. People are tired of constipated battery specs from Apple and releasing a phone which worsen this aspect was going to fail miserably… it doesn’t have even 1/10 of the wow factor to succeed with the trade offs it brings
That was my hope on my old MacBook Pro, too, with 140 out of 256GB of disk space taken by “Other storage” rendering it almost unusable. It never really shrunk it when it should have, had to hard reset everything. Really let down by this closed down automatic shit… Time Machine and backups work well, but this storage piling is a real issue on Apple products.
What it lacks is flexibility, not quality :)

Sick, would have taken the green version of this for this cover, if it had orange aluminum buttons (also the pattern would have been different, but no preference on that)

Here a much better representation of colors and the side buttons:

Thanks for your thoughts! Actually the color isn’t white but a pale aquamarine (“Cirrus” in PD terms) and I chose it because the buttons are orange and match almost exactly the phone color ;) but yeah pretty in-your-face, I normally prefer plain silver, too, but this time I went for bold!

I have the feeling you’re not really reading what I’m writing, you want to clash instead of discuss, but I’ll go on: I fully agree that taking him in custody and pressuring him to close unwanted channels is wrong and can deter startups and investments in the social network field in Europe, but Russia is a real threat and they are using all the tools possible to manipulate opinion (in Moldova for example) and create chaos. So pretty understandable that the French tried it. But he puts it like Europe and Russia are on the same level of media and chat control, and they are not. Nonetheless, there is a drift in that direction and we should uphold the free speech rights. All in all, I welcome his message!

The message (which appears as a banner in the Telegram app, too) is filled with overhyped “news” and generalization regarding freedom of speech. Since him being stopped and investigated in France, he’s gone pretty unhinged on freedom of speech, disregarding the complexity of governing bodies and the real effect of information without bounds.
He makes valid points and I’m not defending anyone, but he oversimplifies and misreads some topics.

I recently heard a podcast “interview” of him by Lex Fridman and - while he’s for sure extremely intelligent and talented - it looks like he’s been infected with the “philosophical fit-bro ultra-liberist elitarianism” disease that is all the rage now, unfortunately.

This was underwhelming, but watch iterations across the whole industry are really slow. Good that some software features will be available on older models. Not yet convinced to update my Series 5 though, even without the latest WatchOS and struggling battery, don’t really see a relevant added value with newer versions (and I would jump to the Ultra as I use the watch mainly for sports)

Orange Pro instant buy. Those cameras are really promising, battery life looks to be impressive and thermals well managed. My iPhone XS can retire peacefully.

Titanium was always a bad choice for thermals. Now they have the Air as the princess phone and the Pros look designed to perform not to look, seems like.

The lenses already protruded like this. They use more real estate inside the device now, though, and it rolls less than before. An improvement is there :)

This is also my experience 👍
Oh my it really didn’t cross my mind that MacOS 13 is already 2 versions old and now we are at 15 😅
I find it nevertheless an interesting tech tip that I didn’t know of.

Now, this is a very rude and ignorant comment. Did you even read the article? The reasons behind it are quite clear, while not being obvious from the user perspective. Not everything must or can be free (but I think I see where the sentiment against companies and corporations comes, and I share it: enshittification is all the rage, but not actually everywhere)
It’s not a direct correlation, though. It’s not always the case.
