Easiest way to design it would probably be by making it a NC circuit so they brake unless they have power to open the brake cylinders.

But this is the same as just having a split electrical circuit to a brake-by-wire solution. It’s only a pseudo-redundant system because you still rely on a single type of mechanical connection to brakes.

Right now there’s also not any failsafes for the break lines failing

I’m not sure how card payments work in the US, but here the terminals have offline-mode where the purchases are just stored locally until it comes online again.

If there’s a total blackout, having cash maybe be better (but absolutely no guarantee they’re usable at the grocery store)…but there’s a whole lot of other much more pressing issues in that case.

Definitely go 0mm when using PLA as support for PETG, it makes a much better bottom surface on the model because they don’t bond.

I mean, like you know PETG doesn’t bond at all to PLA, so you’re almost trying to extrude PETG in a circle mid-air. There’s so little friction/adhesion to PLA that the nozzle simply drags the extruded PETG along with it, it’s like trying to extrude first layer but with Z-offset set way too high so the extrusion barely squishes against the plate.

My best guess is to try and turn the speed way down and see if it will help…like <50mm/s

2 weeks isn’t really that old, I don’t see the issue.

I’ve been using a combination of Opentracks for GPS/map and gadgetbridge+PAIesque with an amazfit neo and Decathlon HRM band for metrics and analysis for about a week now, and it’s honestly just inferior in every single way compared to my Coros Pace 2.

So there are solutions, but they all kind of suck a little and you have to be willing to accept that.

If streaming in 256kbit/s only required 256kbit/s actual connection, your math is correct…in reality it will need higher bandwidth to stream seamlessly at that bitrate.

It would be horridly slow for all those things (well maybe not text-only chats)

400kbit/s excruciatingly slow for even basic things besides web browsingon bloated sites.

IDK, 400kbit/s is pretty close to unusable these days…

Ok so we just have starkly dissimilar experiences, unfortunately for me it has been way more hassle than what you have experienced.

I’ve been using freetube for a little over a year, and I have to change something all the time (like every third time i open the app or something) otherwise videos just throw an error and won’t load. Same goes for my laptop (also freetube). Newpipe and revanced are even worse for me and some I never got working.
