That makes one is us!

So, I get where you’re going with this. There’s a problem with it though, albeit one that shouldn’t necessarily discourage the idea. Starlink and such devices can be found when in use. It’s not a passive connection, you need to send data out.
In fact, I believe an individual was convicted in Iran for using starlink recently?
You’d need a forceful reason for governments to leave the people/connections alone.
Satellite can also be disrupted instead of destroyed. Though that’s admittedly a little difficult to accomplish at the scale of an entire country.

While I agree, I can’t think of a practical way to ensure this beyond direct physical intervention. Which I admit may have been what you meant, but it sounded more like “we need to make it impossible to block the internet at a technical level”.

How does one confirm something they have no way of knowing with certainty?…
? What even is this, they asked what options there were, I gave them my opinion, and you’re jumping down my throat for not giving the only partially open source option.
Then literally no one can answer the question presented.
I prefer 1Password. They use a secure encryption key together with your master password. If you lose the encryption key, your data can’t be recovered. The key is only needed during the initial setup annd after that you unlock the vault on your device with your master password.
This means if their database ever gets hacked, your data is encrypted in a way that not even you could get at unless you have that secure key.

Headline goes brrrrrr… I guess?

Maybe should have hashed that out before dumping millions into it…

I mean, iirc there’s no genetic reason first cousins shouldn’t have kids, I doubt third cousins would be a problem.

As a web developer, I would happily support current chrome over literally any version of IE. It’s not even a contest.
The majority of standards are properly implemented in chrome, and it tends to be edge cases that are not. Whereas for IR you needed IE specific “hacks” to do a number of everyday things.

Did you use IE when it was still around? Edge is their “new” offering, because of how terrible their own engine was. Moving back to their own engine would be a step backwards.

You want another version of IE?

About two weeks ago, Backblaze sent out an email
Headlines are clickbait. Literally the first line in the article. What more can they do than send an email?

You claimed that someone could just whip up a license free version of any tool to bypass the cost of a license fee. Was my choice of photoshop arbitrary? Absolutely, you didn’t give any sort of qualifier as to what counts as “any tool”.
You can’t both claim that anyone will just use AI to build any tool, and then complain that my choice of tool is arbitrary so should be discounted.
App Store submissions isn’t a good metric of complex applications. “The fart app” is an app that any AI tool could make, that anyone could then submit, but is in no way complex. Vibe coded apps have taken off, but what was the last long term (even 1 year) successful vibe coded app? Because the vast majority of the news I hear about vibe coded apps is how they had a major security breach.

Cool, so until that point in time, my point still stands. You can’t just hand waive and say “it’ll happen eventually” and be expected to be taken seriously.

I look forward to your vibe coded copy of photoshop, I assume you’ll have it whipped up lickity split?

Yes
Hey new, its a really really nice ballroom, or something.
