I was a donor to that project, and right now I think there are still concerns about the long-term reversibility. The project isn’t dead but I doubt we will see it as a readily available option for the public within the next decade, if ever.

There’s a much better chance of him dying in office than running again, let alone winning given he’d literally have to get a constitutional amendment passed. The supreme court is conservative but they have a strong record of swatting down his more ridiculous claims, including when he tried to challenge the 2020 election results.
Not really? We’re still 3.5 years out from the next presidential election, most people aren’t even thinking about who they’re voting for yet. People won’t be announcing their candidacy for another 2 years so this is all premature anyways.
Regular pumped hydro has an overall efficiency of about 80%. I would guess these sphere things would be similar, assuming you can put them near a high-voltage line, since the underlying technology (pump and turbine) is the same.
Should have just used bleach if they don’t care about it actually being a viable treatment. Or, for that matter, we’ve already invented spermicidal foam…
