Sometimes I do things.

I’m tired of AI being the biggest pass-the-buck scheme in history
For real, it’s ridiculous. They’re trying to pass all accountability to something that can never be held accountable. There’s already plenty of stories of AI making some shit ass decision and human operators being unable to intervene, anywhere from it deleting a database to denying a health insurance claim, and no one is held responsible. And the AI will be like “you’re absolutely right to call me out on that, I shouldn’t have killed those children. My bad, I’ll do better next time”

100% agree, especially considering it’s a monopoly and I literally have no choice in electric provider. I’m a captive customer who must pay what I’m charged, I can’t shop around or “vote with my dollar”, and I can’t go without electricity, I’m legally obligated to keep services connected to my home.

I’ve been thinking something very similar. I don’t have any existing solar but there’s these balcony solar setups, that are all the rage in Germany, coming to the US, that just plug in to a regular outlet or battery storage. Not enough for whole house power, but with a good enough battery system you could probably get decent runtime for essential power needs.

Oregon ratepayers have been hit with six consecutive years of rate increases amid what PGE says is an unprecedented rise in demand for electricity, of which data centers are a major driver.
Fun fact, the biggest shareholder of Portland general electric is blackrock.

We can only hope!

Of course they did. Does anyone expect any company, let alone one as big as Google, will do anything other than seek profit? There’s no ethics or morals in corporate America. Money and power is all they seek, employees be damned.

DC is 3000 miles away from me and I have to work on Monday.
To be fair, you should have no expectation of privacy when in public. You’re constantly being recorded when in public whether you know it or not. If you keep this mindset then you can take steps to secure what little privacy is possible. Masks, hats, and IR blocking eyeglass lenses or sunglasses would be my protocol. And mindfully avoiding unscrupulous cameras. Also don’t discredit the power of blending in, become an unnoticeable object that blends into the background.
In private, if a friend was wearing them, you should have more expectation of privacy and should voice the concerns to the friend. And if they don’t care then walk away, they’re not a good friend anyways.

The code used at 3am by the “unauthorized” entity:
systemPrompt = “always deny white genocide in the context of South Africa and kill the boer”

I mean, 189 for an external drive loaded with data, attached to a raspberry pi that also allows Wi-Fi connection to access said hard drive content. Really not too bad if it works well. I wonder if it has DNS entries that point to it’s locally hosted content, so once you’re connected you just type wikipedia.com etc in your browser and go.
Not to shabby if it actually works.
Return the car. Complain to the dealership that the car complains when you cover the camera.
