I’ve only seen better benefits, pay, and protections over the last 20 years. Not sure what to say.

Worker benefits are better than they were 10 years ago, and way better than 20 years ago. Wages have gone up, and keeping pace with inflation with varying degrees of success over the years. People work less than they used to is what I’m saying. I work less than my parents did and I think it’s a good thing. But the economy will slow down because of it.

You can’t compete with a nation that doesn’t feel bad about exploitation of workers. If the workers cooperate then you can get a crazy amount of productivity out of them. The united states is losing its power because we aren’t willing to work as we used to. It’s a tradeoff, but I’m fine with it except that I’m not sure I trust China/Xi Jinping as the world’s superpower. He eliminated term limits when he took power, and I’m sure has no intention of going anywhere for a long time. Everyone so busy celebrating Trump looking bad, but forgetting that it could be and will be a lot worse for the western world under a Chinese dictator.

Cuba and China are currently 56 and 57th in the world for life expectancy. Even if there was a time where their life expectancy improved faster than the rest of the world because of socialist policies, their edge has since then disappeared.

Which countries are you thinking of? There aren’t that many that still consider themselves socialist or communist. Cuba is really the only good example i can think of that fits what you are describing.

So why did life expectancy go up so much around the rest of the world at the same time? Come on…

Those metrics improved worldwide during those time periods. It had more to do with the development of vaccines and antibiotics.

The fact that you can freely criticize and say whatever you want about Elon means that he is not even close to as oppressive.

Not sure why the knee jerk hate on this one. I like the idea of opening up academic articles and other materials for free and open use.

It’s mostly a metric people use to prove their superiority over other people, when all of the other metrics for happiness and success suggest otherwise.

Any time it mentions kids or safety i get suspicious that it really means spying on us or giving a bunch of money to cronies.

It’s still way up from a year ago. The insane climb after the election was unsupported hype, which has been corrected. Say what you want about tesla, but the stock price looks pretty healthy.
That’s not what I said
