I like the Ionic.

I’d buy another one. The Fit is a fantastic economy car. I want an EV, but older cars don’t track. That’s more important to me than the convenience of an EV.

Whereas not using a VPN will subject one to… domestic surveillance.

I own a Honda Fit. It’s small, is reasonably petrol efficient, has actual dials and physical knobs for an interface, and needs just basic maintenance to run reliably.

Of course they’ve been discontinued in Canada.

There was a competitor of Digg to flee to. Reddit, and the other social media platforms, solved that problem with anticompetitive practices to prevent a migration they previously benefitted from.

I remember when Reddit was run out of spez’s Somerville apartment on a little PC. No subreddits, just one top page. Terrible performance and no users. Everyone was at either Slashdot or Digg. Even Kuro5hin by then was dead. Reddit beat Digg because Digg got stupid and abused their community. Reddit is a million times worse now than Digg ever was.

I can understand the FTC being involved because trade. But the FCC? Maybe regulatory authority over WiFi? But this seems like massive over reach.

It took a lot of customer abuse to break Reddit’s stranglehold, but they are perilously close to a Digg like migration off their platform. Spez can take a hike into bankruptcy.

Apple’s integrated CPU, GPU and high bandwidth RAM has won the price/performance war. Neither Intel nor AMD have yet to offer a comparable product line that meets Apple’s design. They value upgradability via low bandwidth DIMMS and continue to lose customers.

Atoms repel by electrostatic forces. Essentially, electro-magnetism. The strong nuclear force acts on subatomic particles at distances far shorter.

You’re getting the microgram statement from here. You miss the point. A millionth of a gram is feasible to make and contain right now. It was predicted by 2010 in the paper using CERN, and there are much better facilities producing since then.

You’re missing the point to be pedantic over a 20 year old paper. Newer approaches reduce the antimatter requirements for such weapons even more.

This might make you wonder why antimatter is being transported around. The fact is, proposals to weaponize antimatter as a fusion trigger have been around for over 40 years, and the means to achieving that from a production and engineering standpoint seem a good bet to be available today.

EDIT: I’m getting bullshit downvotes from people who clearly won’t read the paper and don’t understand the proposed detonation model. One need not have grams of antimatter to trigger a H-H fusion detonation. A relatively small amount of antimatter is needed to trigger initial fusion of a hydrogen target, which by cascade can be used to detonate additional hydrogen. This removes the fission trigger and allows for very small fusion weapons with relatively low yields. For example, a device the size of a hand grenade with tons of TNT equivalent output - like a truck bomb in your hand. Or a rifle sized X-Ray laser is another proposed weapon.

Read the study. This technology is feasible.
