It is a Samsung like other comments have mentioned. It sounds like a Jellyfin app was added for Samsung recently according to them, so I’ll have to check it out.
I still want to build a stream box though.

The only reason I’m still using plex is the smart TV I have doesn’t support Jellyfin.
Time to set up a Linux stream box that does support it (and whatever else I want).

If you find something and go “nobody could possibly fall for that!” then you’ve found your MAGA grift.

The same logic, however, apparently does not apply to left-wing influencer accounts, as Sam learned when he created a short-lived liberal counterpart for Emily on Instagram: “Democrats know that it’s AI slop, so they don’t engage as much.” (Sam’s explanation for why MAGA influencer accounts work is blunt: “The MAGA crowd is made up of dumb people—like, super dumb people. And they fall for it.”)
Pretty much sums up the whole political timeline we live in.

Tonight, you.

Wait for it to mess up and end up petting your wife and fucking your dog.

This is exactly the point I’m making. Once a few companies effectively own the market, what’s stopping them from programming their devices to communicate with each other without user knowledge? I remember seeing some post about a reddit guy asking why his Samsung (or other smart brand) dishwasher was using several GB of bandwidth daily.

You’ll have to rip the networking chip out pretty soon to stop them from sniffing out and connecting to WiFi or other devices connected to the internet.

The new problem is AI running on the TV taking the images sent to it and processing those separately from everything else, and using that to see what you’re doing and watching.

I had to look it up. The RAM I bought 12 months ago for $99 is now $350. This is insane.

Step one: find a way to give all these people a criminal record.
That’s it. They can’t legally own (or touch) a firearm any more. They can’t live in the same house as a firearm without being liable to catch a Felony Possession of a Firearm charge, which will put them in Federal prison for several years.

Something tells me that won’t stop someone from getting in trouble for misusing his name. Straight to deportation with you!

I’m starting to think he doesn’t understand how Tariffs work…
Pocketbook devices mostly run on Linux, except for a few android models. I have the Pocketbook Basic Lux, and I side load manga onto a SD card for it. It has a bookstore that can be entirely ignored, and you can use it without ever connecting wifi. I use Kindle Comic Converter to resize all my manga to the same resolution of the screen to prevent artifacts when the software downscales the images, as well as significantly reducing file size. It has a very simple menu and does not come with any bloatware or unnecessary additions. It is simply an eReader.

You can transfer your watchlist and show progress to Crunchyroll, but the only thing that doesn’t transfer is digital purchases. I don’t think many people actually have purchased content, so most people aren’t losing anything.
Edit: dang man people hate this comment lol, I wasn’t trying to say it wasn’t a bad move. The less-than-most people who did purchase digital copies are getting screwed.
Edit 2: I didn’t really consider the digital copies that come with dvd and blu-ray purchases. The notice they sent me sounded like they didn’t have any of this implemented in crunchyroll. It smells like they are testing how much money they can save against how much revenue is lost from people leaving because of this before making any promises.
I can literally go and buy games on sale at 50-90% off during any of the multitude of sale events that are constantly happening.
