They are commonly used in many parts of Europe.
If you drop some Tariff percentages, we might be willing to advise.

I see Amazon repurposing its delivery drones, or entering the same-day-air-defence-delivery (which would be splendid for Ukraine, too).
Afaik GPS is receiving only. You simply don’t emit any signals.
It can he spoofed and jammed, but doesn’t by design give away your location.

Any software used by enough people will be targeted.

Nope. That’s not how Signal and E2E encrypted messaging works.
If a government asks Signal for user data they get an almost empty sheet of paper. Search for " what data does signal collect" to confirm that.
If - on the other side - your smartphone is compromised or unlocked there is almost nothing Signal can do to prevent governments from looking into your data. Also it reads like some agents simply joined a group chat. Again: nothing Signal could prevent.

If the vibes keep on deteriorating and there would be a crackdown on messengers and signaling infrastructure a messenger is the last of your worries.
And if Signal gets specifically targeted, there will be warning signs and time to shift away.

An archive link as the original site is not available due to DDOS 😬
I’m also pro-FOSS and pro-don’t-your-dare-manipulating-my-social-media-for-commercial-or-political-reasons :-)
Catchy, I know.
Both issues are tightly coupled. There is no business model/value in a truly federated platform that doesn’t rely on algorithms. Try to sell ads to your customers, they will always prefer other platforms with proper targeting.
So why would a private company use a protocol and architecture, that cannot be monetized properly?
Bluesky is sort of federated while having a centralized content moderation. Saying it is federated is basically like saying a napkin can be used as trousers. It will cover some parts, but isn’t the real deal.
The substantial difference is that mastodon is really federated, and decentralized, thereby moderated at different instances and levels (by server federation and defederation as well as local moderation). Also, really important, there is no algorithm feeding you content a platform owner considers worth emphasizing.

Sliding in the comments: CachyOS is really easy to use, nothing mystical about it.

Also they always come up with new ways to circumvent blocking mechanisms and push some extra work to admins.
Remember how judges ruled when somebody circumvented copy restrictions on media?

Unless of course your content is original and you want to foster the alternatives instead of further cementing the problematic platforms.
Sure, the choice is rather ideological than economical, but not working on the transition (like using all platforms in parallel in order to someday fade away from the problematic ones) is just lazy and half arsed.

Hosted on substack 😂

Couldn’t convince my family and others to use Signal or Threema. I contact them individually and in groups via RCS.
It really sucks and makes troubles all the time. Group replies get only delivered to me, media gets stuck… and I know that it is not yet encrypted, when I contact people directly.

Take a look at the comparison and judge for yourself.

If the USA ever get‘s a democratic Government again, there is so much to rewind.
Luckily, in vast parts they could just follow the https://www.project2025.observer/de in reverse.

Yea. It‘s affected, too.
It‘s her approach to frame the technology instead of acknowledging that she is the victim of a social engineering attack.
