Intel set up shop in Israel long ago, but I’m still boycotting. At least we have AMD as an alternative.

Good. Larry Ellison does not appear to be a force for good in the world. Steve Jobs had negative things to say about him and his obsession with increasing his billions.

Waymo is currently level 4 autonomous driving. The difference between levels 4 and 5 is that level 4 is geofenced and level 5 is not. (And level 5 has no steering controls).

Most Americans I know were upset with both.

Most of Wikipedia articles hardly change over time. The entry for potassium for example, or Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act. The controversial or recent current events topics get most updates.

Hyundai has been pretty good. And I only hear good things about Rivian and Lucid.

Apple requires some developer credentials and notarization for sideloading apps, to prevent known malware. What is the problem with this?
Edit: everyone this is an honest question.

His positions are actually quite in line with mainstream America. Most Americans now criticize Israel’s war on Gaza. Most Americans believe the rich are under-taxed. Most Americans believe the rent is too high. Mamdani is not the boogeyman that conservatives claim.

That’s just the loudest voices, not the majority.

Haiti has a lot of lynchings of suspected gay people. Grenada and Barbados and Dominica still jail people for gay sex with long prison terms.

Instapaper is still going strong.
Apple also has Reading List built into safari and iPhone.

So does the Caribbean and much of the developing world, but like UAE these old laws are still on the books but not enforced. Can you show me an example of death penalty being carried out in UAE for homosexuality in the last few decades?

UAE ≠ Saudi Arabia
This is just plain anti-Arab racism. They’re not all alike. I deeply dislike the Emirati government but you’re not helping.

IBM had a role in the holocaust. Those numbers tattooed on everyone in the concentration camp? Those were IBM ID numbers for the punch cards.
If IBM staff protested about their role, it’s been lost to history. But it’s repeating today with Gaza and the staff who speak out are being demonized. Israel’s Lavender AI is being used to kill civilians. History will prove this woman and the other employees right in the end.

The IDF uses plenty of Microsoft technology including Azure. The details of Lavender are classified.

This isn’t rare and not altogether a bad idea.
My university had a problem of students bringing their own WiFi routers before the dorms had WiFi. Students would set them up incorrectly and cause a series of problems with colliding DHCP servers and interference and it would cause outages for nearby wired students.
A lot of IT departments locked the network down for these reasons.

Why would I give Microsoft money if they’re behaving like this?

They exist but not at this thinness. That’s an important difference.
Comma AI can do it with far far less.
