That’s a big part of enshitification: maximizing profit at the sacrifice of product quality. All of those pro-capitalist folk want you to believe the market will correct itself. The problem is when the entire market is dominated by this mentality and anyone (doing anything different) tries to enter that market is snuffed out immediately. None of the major brands will stray from this model because they are completely and hopelessly servant to the shareholder, and all that matters to them is maximizing profits at any cost. I sympathize with Wikipedia here because I really like the platform. That being said, modernize and get yourself a new front end. People don’t like AI because of it’s intrusiveness. They want convenience. Create “Knowledge-bot” or something similar that is focused on answering questions in a more meaningful way.
