The one reason this weirds me out (without having seen these dolls tbf) is that it was decided something sex-related is too childlike and that somehow makes it illegal apparently? Like, what legal basis is there for it? I have never heard about any law prohibiting ‘too childlike’ appearance, let alone seen it applied.

I mean, have these people seen what’s going on in some (not to say many) anime? There are characters being explicitly sexualized, while being canonically underage. How is one thing okay and the other isn’t?

The last couple updates made it better, but I wouldn’t exactly call Element a smooth experience. For example it recently began to try and access a keyring that doesn’t exist, ignoring the one that I already have readily available, and that works for everything else.

This is the latest in a long series of frustrating experiences with Matrix in general. To this day, Element isn’t stable, and Element X is somehow worse. It is, imo, a very promising option, but it is also far from perfect.

You can totally manage a fleet of Linux devices. Next to all servers run Linux. How the hell would you do that without appropriate tooling? We use Ansible for example - Which certainly isn’t a perfect solution, but a working one.

You say that, yet Mac and Linux grew quite a bit over the past couple years. It’s true, not everyone will drop Windows right after whatever bullshit they announce, but software and platforms are rarely abandonned over night.

You cannot permanently record public places and you may not publish recordings of people (as in them being the main content in the video) without their consent. A temporary recording or live stream should be pretty much a non-issue, especially if you don’t do anything with it other than watching it.
