Man i feel like if Apple opened up their systems, it would barely affect revenue, and would make android much less appealing. proper sideloading and full control over the OS would genuinely remove a lot of barriers for hardcore android users to move to ios.

What’s weird is that given certain odd scenarios (I can’t recall it but there was a video by Enderman about it) you’ll see the old windows 10 taskbar appear, exact styling and all. So the windows 11 taskbar is quite literally just a WebView plastered on top.

Anubis isn’t even comparable to cloudflare. The reason cloudflare is so effective is that they can oversee which IPs are spamming or being abusive to certain websites, and can throw up protections quickly. There are a number of negative implications that come with this, but it’s quite good at its primary job.

Anubis is just a prompt that wastes CPU cycles and tries to make it more expensive for AI crawlers to do so (since they care a lot about compute costs, of course). There is no bot protection or anything happening. The “making sure you’re not a bot” is quite misleading imo

What browser should I use on mobile? I use Librewolf on desktop since it runs fine, and the vertical tabs are great, and it looks nice.

On mobile though there’s a lot of problems with the browser space:

• Chrome: runs great but is obviously not good for privacy
• Firefox: what most people recommend, but it has terrible performance, looks not great, and doesn’t even have more than basic fingerprinting protection, and literally includes ads by default. It’s also less secure on Android because they don’t do per site process isolation, and the memory allocator is worse.
• Brave: people tend to dislike brave here, but it runs well (since it’s chromium based) and has at least better fingerprinting protection.

What other options are there?

HTTPS can in fact be cached, and most modern browsers will do so unless given a header or something to tell it not to.
