Id be questioning what else they changed that I don’t see

Ahh, if that’s the case, i have no sympathy for fucking with a stock OS before handing it to the user. Nobody likes vendor bloatware

I feel like I’m missing something here. What do the manufacturers have to do with this, beyond perhaps including HEVC in advertising content? That’s on the GPU maker, AFAIK asus/acer practically purchase them from a catalog and build the rest around that size/shape
Edit: if its the licensing fee, that’s on the OS and/or end user, not the hardware

Confident that it is bad at everything and mocks itself for being so

I put grapheneos on my current phone using my previous phone (samsung s22) and a usb c cable. Wasn’t hard at all, just had to follow the prompts.

My standard cycle for building is 5 years, and i just built (probably overspecced) with a 9800x3d and a 9070 XT. I’m sitting pretty for a while IMO.

My RAM kit is worth more than my GPU 🥲

Doubt that’ll happen for a few mor years unfortunately. I can’t imagine most of the hardware made for AI datacenters is compatible with consumer stuff :/

That requires USB connection to even be possible with a locked phone.
Stalemate. I imagine velociraptors don’t swim and have little reason to ever be in the same habitat as a giant squid, likewise for the giant squid. Large no-mans-land where their environments meet.

Yep, Samsung Knox is the feature name; does it actually prevent things or is it just “tamper evidence” for corporate devices?
Correct. And a MASSIVE number of them have wireless capability or a microphone. Device requirements can be strict; in my case “no wireless or microphone” meant “physically cannot have a wireless card or a microphone”, not just software controlled ability to turn it off, and IIRC required some form of proof of that. Ipods were about all i could find that wasn’t hard to get ahold of or get approved.
Secure Compartmentalized Information Facility.
All i can say is good luck. Just about the most modern thing you can actually buy (with a reputable manufacturer) without wireless capability or a microphone is going to be an older Ipod.
Its an extremely niche market, mostly people who work in SCIF’s.

One question still remains; why are all the AI buttons/icons buttholes?

For the “already done this”:

For the modern technology making it significantly easier:

TL:DR, if you’re at a protest and your signal drops to 2G, your device is being monitored and tracked. Whether or not anyone acts on that data is a whole other thing.

Its not the device cracking that’s the problem; its the “your device was identified at the protest we have labeled a riot and has been tracked to your home, which we will now raid in the middle of the night”.
Its demographic data; if the apps themselves have any access to it at all, it will be misused by advertising companies to see if they’re attracting kids (assuming people are actually truthful; i was totally 18 when i first looked at porn, trust me bro).
