so is that.

so is that.

are they asking mastodon users to boycott discord or reddit? seems to be mostly about just spreading the word about these shitty people because (I assume) the usual escalation channels aren’t workling. what else should they do?

also anyone still using “__masterrace” needs to rebrand already. 2010 edgelord humor.

probably a translation issue, it’s a Spanish paper.
hasn’t been updated in years. maybe at all? not a big surprise.

and now it’ll be pile of e waste in a few years. that’s progress.

as i said, “if you’re deliberating between apple and Google” which is how this conversation started.

yes I agree, fuck ads, but fuck targeted ads even harder. The point is if you’re deliberating between apple and Google based on the ads, apple is still not as bad as google. it’s not a binary ads vs no ads issue.

fart sniffer

the difference with google is they’re collecting and montetizing all that data on you whereas apple is doing non-targeted ads.

Yes these ads suck, but they are not targeted ads based on your entire history of personal data which is google’s entire business. these are ads shown based on your current location in the maps app. theoretically everyone in your vicinity is getting the same map ads.

not to mention all these poo breeds are ugly as fuck.
100%. i like using the top of the screen to mark my place in reading. sometimes i need to scroll back up and these headers completely fuck up my reading experience.
but luckily Reader View exists, so i usually just use that.

nope! can’t be subsidizing anything but fossil fuel.

being aware of the show doesn’t mean you understand a vague reference to one specific episode.

google fiber was a special case where they were introducing much needed competition to the nearly monopolized ISP market.

downvotes because your facts are misinterpreted. This entire discussion is about exporting to the grid. All this legislation does is allow you to use balcony solar for yourself; NOT connecting it to the grid. If you want to export to the grid (like to participate in net metering) you still need PTO.

Your link doesn’t mention anything about “balcony solar”.
“Application process for rooftop solar and other smaller systems”. If you want to export power to the grid from anything at all, you must go through this process. If you wanted to export power from a hamster on a wheel you must apply for PTO.
Because the whole point is to make solar easier and more affordable?
of course, but not at the cost of safety and grid reliability.
selective editing by OP going on here.

Critical to understand the difference between “hazard” and “risk” here. A shark in the ocean is potentially very “hazardous”, but the actual “risk” of you being attacked by a shark is extremely low unless you’re in the water around a shark. That’s why the US uses a risk-based approach rather than EU’s hazard-based approach.
