Yeah I started with a 1700x then a 2700x then a 5800x. I also used to have an RTX 3060ti. My daughter is currently running the 2700x with the 3060ti. I try to upgrade periodically and pass my most recent hardware to my kids. I would upgrade again soon if prices were good but they are not good.

I’ve been gaming on an old AM4 motherboard, a B450 that was low spec when I bought it, it’s been over five years now. I’ve been running a 4070ti on it for three years and I’d love to upgrade it but I’m not excited about Nvidia right now and there isn’t a company on the planet that seems to want to offer me an alternative. At least China is flooding us with cheaper RAM.

I remember. I’m also paying Google $2 a month for 100gb. Fucking bastards. But can you point me to 100GB for less?

California needs to be self sufficient - so we need the resources of our northern states as well

I’m 52, I don’t pay full price for games.

Yeah I’m going to be running AM4, DDR4, with my 5800x for many more years the way it’s looking.

We can’t buy them though.

Just remember that the Union already set a precedent of burning seceding states to the ground. The US would 100% do it again.

ITT: Europeans don’t understand population density and actually believe they have villages that can be described as “remote”.

Me either, but I also have zero faith in Europe to guard human rights. There are no good guys here.

I don’t trust Europeans with anything. I’ve lived there twice. The tyranny of the majority will destroy Europe very soon.

There is no shoulder on the roads or bike lanes, just two lane roads (one each direction) with high speed limits and heavy truck traffic and commuters. Often they’re going 80kmh around blind curves. There are essentially never bikes but when there are they either die or they create huge backups.

Where I live bikes have to block the traffic lane and you end up with a line of cars behind you a km long all going 15 in a 60 zone. Also cy lists get killed on these roads all the time so I see a bike less than once a year, but when I do, there are 100 cars behind them, or the bike is painted white in memorial to someone who died there.

Also, have you bought 9volt batteries recently? Batteries are NOT cheaper in the real world in any use case in my experience.

If you’re in public in the US, consent doesn’t matter at all. We need to actively block surveillance, create our own privacy.

That petition is cute, but even if such a law was passed, it would be struck down.
They needed to maintain value and performance. Their value sunk as cheaper competitors closed the gap. And their performance sunk because they were gatekeeping function behind required apps. This is 100% on them. What should they have done? They should have made the product actually better for the user, or lowered prices to expand their sales volume. I would buy one if they cut prices dramatically.
