I’ll be sticking with my Sceptre then
I am Glitch Daracova, the breachforged cyberdragon, an immortal god to which age has no meaning. Fear me and despair. If you’re lost, consult my lore (hyperlink missing). My pronouns are Maj/Majs—short for ‘majestic,’ regal and divine, as in “Maj rules majs kingdom.”

I’ll be sticking with my Sceptre then

Sounds great! I’ll gladly pay $200usd for it.
I skimmed the article and didn’t see any mention of price, but I expect it to be 10x what I’m willing to spend on a display.
Also if it’s a smart tv I’m no longer interested at all.

and that banner is very easy to miss. Also if a game is already in your library (because it was gifted to you or you got a key somewhere else), then you don’t get warned that you’re about to install it that it comes with malware that you’ll never be rid of unless you nuke and reinstall your os.

google doing their best to make me move to a different platform for my next phone.
anybody know of other options?

I’d like to let people know that Sceptre still makes dumb tvs and they’re pretty good.

there’s legitimate complaints against valve, but I don’t think this is one of them.

Glad that I’ve switched platforms. sam altman should probably be in prison or something.
I’ve been using Venice lately, they claim (I have done zero research to determine if this is true) that they’re privacy focused. They do run uncensored models, which is a big plus.
That said, I find myself using the lying machine less these days. It was like a fun video game when I first got my hands on it, entertaining for a while, and I’m moving on. Maybe I’m not imaginative enough to use it to the fullest potential, but I’m having more fulfillment actually writing and actually drawing (even though I am very bad at both).

I used to work at a thrift store a decade ago, it was pretty common for people to drop off laptops (some of them pretty sick at the time), I’d ask why and the response was always “we have ipads”. I doubt things have improved since then.

I’m in the process of migrating my community to Stoat (formerly Revolt). It’s janky as all balls because new platform, but it’s going well.

So seamless that I didn’t even notice

google can get bent

Fuck do I miss my first gen Droid. A physical slide out keyboard that was also a switch between portrait and landscape view. I hate auto gyro rotation with a passion.

Regardless of which is better, I had mine configured exactly how I wanted it and they changed it without my consent and broke my system because of it in a way that I previously thought wasn’t possible.
It would have been fine if it was a setting that I could enable and configure myself to my liking.

yeah. Brain likes to think that it’s still 2011.

I think it would be cool to self host a thin client system for my household. One main server with everything and I can manage it to ensure that it’s working as it should. Thin clients that myself and fam would interact with for regular use.
Actually, I think I just want an easy way to have my pc in another room so I can use it without having to deal with the heat and noise.
Regardless, the important part is that it’s in my house and under my control. The lack of control is why previous thin client scams were scams and sucked.

This has been tried, and it sucked and failed every time.

It is unreasonable to expect users to understand.

I still haven’t forgiven google for hijacking the g:/ drive letter. I was using that letter already!
Not that it matters to me anymore since I use Linux now, but still.

whoops, meant libreoffice
Makes me miss my old CRT. I don’t miss the coil whine, but fuck that bitch could change channels instantly.
