There’s also the issue that around once a year the two planets will be on opposite sides of the sun. Not only would you have a lag of close to 3 hours, but communication would be completely impossible for a month or so at a time.

Yes, but the two-and-a-half hour lag each way would be a killer.

Not to mention that the Germans themselves took a few years out, and then put a lot of the Nazi political machine back in charge.
Does anyone remember when Kurt Waldheim, UN Secretary General for 9 years and President of Austria for 6, turned out to be a former nazi? Whoops ie!

You mean RPN, right? Reverse Polish Notation.
I would recommend using Language Transfer.
It has courses for about 10 languages. All of them are sets of MP3 files, about 10 minutes each. You can download them from soundcloud, listen via YouTube, or install the simple but very effective app.
I think you would be shocked at how natural and effective this system is. I have been using it to learn Spanish as my fifth language, and it is easily the best language acquisition system I have ever used short of living in the target country. It explicitly avoids and discourages memorization.
It’s completely free, but the creator asks for donations to cover his expenses. Believe it or not, one man has created courses for French, Spanish, German, Italian, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Swahili, and recently Japanese.

Not to mention the literally billions of birds that are killed every year by cats in the US.

people they’ve given no other choice or recourse
I don’t know, I find I also have the option to not consume media that I can’t pay for or justify ethically. For instance, the only streaming service we have a subscription for is The Criterion Channel.

I get three to five spam emails every day from Republican agents asking “Patriots” to send money to help defend against the woke liberals. They keep changing the subjects and domains sent from, so it is difficult to block them effectively.
The kicker is that I live in Canada, and have never lived in the US or been eligible to vote in a US election.

Just have a look at what’s going on in ukraine. Once they started using drones, the drone were attacked through their wireless connections. Now they trail fiber optic cables for control. What does that say about the relative reliability and security?

I’m still using my Amazfit Bip. When new, it could go 6 weeks on a single charge. After about 7 years, I still get about 2 weeks – enough for me not to bother looking for a replacement.

I have had nicks in my windshield due to gravel thrown up by vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.

It may seem silly, but aside from commuting time the biggest advantage for me was being able to use my own bathroom. No bidets in the office washroom!

Not only that, but many of his books are freely available epubs with no DRM. You can read them and decide if you like his style before going on to buy the others.

I mostly given up on Meidas Touch, after years of videos proclaiming that Trump and the Republicans are going down hard. They do have some useful information, but it is embedded in a lot of editorializing that doesn’t really do anything.
If you watch that channel, the Trump administration is on the verge of collapse, and it’s too disheartening to find time and time again that it isn’t.

My recommendation is Language Transfer, a freely-available system for multiple languages that, in my opinion, helps you to think in another language better than any other system I have tried.

Just audio. But it is presented in a way that helps you to learn, rather than just remember. If you give it a try, I promise that you will be shocked at how you can retain the knowledge.
It isn’t enough on its own, however. You need to reinforce the lessons by speaking to people, reading, and/or TV and movies.

I have found Duolingo much, much less useful for language learning than Language Transfer. The latter actually helps you learn to think in another language rather than memorize things (which is still useful, but not nearly as much).
Short if total immersion, I have found nothing better than LT.

I know someone who works in a university group related to privacy issues. He refuses to have a smartphone because of the ease which which almost anyone can track you and your activities. I think he has an old flip phone.
Formal training in health and science would be good, but even more important is to listen to the experts who are world leaders in those things.
