Last I checked Orion had an NDS. Do you have a source for “they don’t have a docking port”? I try to stay abreast of space news, so if I missed something I definitely want to know about it
AFAIK the dragon and Orion could physically dock together - the NDS (NASA docking system) can be used as either chaser or target so there shouldn’t be any issue there. Orbital dynamics might be a problem, depending on what kind of issue there is. Realistically, if there is an issue that can’t be fixed the rescue plan is probably to deorbit the Orion and splashdown, unless for some reason that became impossible

The shield is ablative, so yes it is supposed to wear away. The problem isn’t that it wore away, it’s that it wore away in ways that were not predicted by the model. It “spalled”, meaning big chunks broke off.

my main gripe with Ubuntu right now is the way they are forcing snaps into my system under the covers. if i wanted to install a snap, i would be using
snap installinstead ofapt install. forcing a snap install when i use apt install is just total fuckery. fortunately i only have to use ubuntu at work; home is fedora and alma
could this be an article instead of a video? I’m not spending 32 minutes watching this, tbh
