Exactly. These guys have an issue with consent.

He was trying to pick her up, she didn’t want him to, he kept trying, then he posted it online and she was embarrassed and asked him to remove it. He said he will if she pays. She feels humiliated and she was used.

It might work if you’re a man but if you’re a woman, it doesn’t matter what you do, if a man wants to film you, follow you, harass you, he will do it. And now he’s filming it too and posting it online for profit.

Do you have a good alternative to drive? Specifically we use it to share files in our household.

The pre installed apps is the problem, make that illegal instead.

I miss r/fitness. It was big enough but good enough to learn a lot and get motivation.
I miss the TV episode discussions. Even if I wasn’t following live, I could go read the thread and feel the shared excitement and read the theories and there was always something I hadn’t noticed that someone else had.
I miss those the most.

Or you just really really are not the smartest baby.

And people will still say… “oh just parent your kids”… In the face of this and all the other pulls on time and energy in the real world as well as how fast it all changes, it’s so hard to just parent your kids. We can’t rely on every individual parent staying up to date on and understanding how to get around all of this.
To be clear, I’m not in favour of stupid shit like age verification.

All I every hear is how Ireland tries to avoid taking fines or tax from them.

Yeah but where I am there are lines for both, often self checkout is longer.

I’m not gen z.

Stores I go to have lines for both. For me, it’s about how I didn’t want to go to the shop in the first place and I want to do as little as possible there while I listen to music on my earbuds. I also prefer to pack my stuff without someone right there… the pressure!

I grew up with phone books having names and addresses of everyone, so it feels less bad to have that released. The rest is fake though… birth date, etc.

Yeah there’s also the issue of how much time someone has available to spend on their system. In a lot of cases, it simply isn’t a big part of someone’s life and the spend the least amount of time on it. All of a sudden they’re going to spend the time to learn about this new and huge thing and then do it themselves?

Yeah, I think there’s more that platforms can do to help but I don’t think age verification or reading messages is it either.
What really annoys me is how people will go… Parents should parent… But then nobody is helping them figure out the best way to parent a child on apps. How are they supposed to know what to do? They’re probably not on Roblox themselves, don’t know anyone who is, don’t understand it, don’t know how best to talk about it with their kid, etc. Parental controls are great but not enough, parents need help to do the best thing. They aren’t all knowing and this shit is changing all the time.
I think it’s the responsibility of parents to parent but it’s also the duty of the company to help them understand their product and how best to help their kid and it’s the duty of us all to look out for the most vulnerable in society.

"Roblox allowed Ethan to turn off the parental controls "
If true, this is very damning for Roblox.
Parents can’t be everywhere all the time checking what they already set up, that’s unrealistic.
Yeah it’s probably no harm at least, worth a try.
