The refund would be based on the purchase receipt, no other way to calculate that. Anything else would involve a convoluted process with lawyers. So yeah, replacement is the only meaningful option.

Wouldn’t the very same argument apply here for the attestation?
Sorry I asked incorrectly…I thought Jetpac provided programmable sims, so I was asking. There seems to be some sort of hybrid SIMs, which behave like an eSIM and can download the whole eSIM data onto them, and then go around using them on a physical SIM tray. I’ve just heard of this and I"m not exactly sure how reliable those are.
Can you get a physical esim from any provider and install any esims from any other provider in it? How can you go about this?

I know…I guess it’s just wishful thinking for the future. I’ve gotten a 2nd hand pixel pro last year. That’s…a lot of storage and memory, just about as much as my laptop. Should last me for a while (I hope it won’t physically break for any reason!), so I won’t immediately ride this Motorola wave anyway.

Lenovo’s Motorola, if you ask me. I don’t think there’s much left at all from original Motorola. But they had a decent track record with their recent phones, AFAIK. Not that I’ve owned any from Motorola.

While I’m happy that it’s Motorola, i just wish someone like Fairphone also bites the bullet of investing in a proper encryption chip that’s acceptable to Grapheneos. I’d like to see more or a trifecta (duofecta?) of trustworthy OS and sustainable/committed manufacturer.

I have a Pixel and I remember seeing this specific option in Graphene. But that still leaves the devices you connect to anyway, which still travel with you and probably won’t rotate the identifiers.

The end model will be the 70s Arthur Clarke prediction. Just a dumb terminal with no processing capabilities at home, hooked to a mainframe (privately owned of course) which you’ll have to use your all your daily needs.
Grapheneos on Pixel 9 fold. Runs like a charm. You have a normal phone by default for all your normal daily stuff, but it’s ready for all the advanced things you might want anytime.

I mean yes, absolutely needs to happen. But this process takes years for every single additional stop. In which every planned expansion neighborhood experiments MASSIVE pricing speculation, passed onto rents and everything in general, way before it even opens.
-How to setup your private spaces and profiles will be the biggest pain in mental considerations. This is one of the biggest differences allowed by Graphene. Also, not all apps like to be on a secondary profile (I’m looking at you, intune). My setup so far is a main google-less profile with f-droid, obtanium and all my foss apps…an insular ‘work’ profile, where I have all my banking and more or less secure apps, a ‘hidden profile’ (is that the name?), where I have a bit less trustworthy apps, food delivery, uber, gmaps etc (the difference between the work and the hidden profile, is work can be paused manually, but will keep working if you want it to in the background while the screen is off…while the hidden profile closes a few minutes after turning the screen off). Then secondary profiles for absolute garbage untrustworthy apps that I know try to gather as much info from you as possible. -Rather than obtanium, I prefer f-droid when possible. Better general oversight of the apps. I- think thunderbird can be set to check more frequently. I haven’t noticed any missing emails that get downloaded as I open. But maybe I don’t check my email so frequently. -Does Molly work on its own, without having to use some third-party notification setup such as ntfy?
I prefer f-droid builds whenever possible. Some github apks will still include google libraries, or not quite mention where they connect. F-droid goes the extra step of checking all of these for you, and give you warnings of any unintended connectivity for example. They’re quite strict for a reason. And I appreciate it.

Nobody worry, I’m sure they’ll fire another 15% of their workforce to make those arbitrary profit margins!

In this update this month they prioritized the app store over local results. I tried to type powershell (work computer) on the start menu, and now it offers me the app store link BEFORE my installed powershell. Yeah I’m sure they’re going to change course.

Try best as you’re setting the phone new. If anything fails you only need to do a factory reset. Also you’ll likely need to perform a do-over after every system update.

Yeah but the equivalent in the xbox series would be naming some of the games xbox too.

The names of the people pushing for these initiatives need to be revealed. They keep doing it with impunity, and in the shadows. We need to know the politicians, and the lobby.

I needed to buy another 20TB drive. I paid 100$ more for THE SAME MODEL i bought two years ago.
It was 42, by the way.
