I’ve had my LG for like six years, no problem. I even connected it to the internet.

and its not like every day was a horror for them anymore than it is for ours
This is just not accurate.
Infant mortality rate before the industrial revolution was like 30%. Something like 50% of children didn’t survive to their fifth birthday. But you think life was about as good then as it is today? I mean people still have to work for a living, so I guess it’s all a wash?
I’m not suggesting that we can’t still improve. I’m just pointing out that you don’t seem to have the proper context for this stance you’ve taken.

That’s such a pessimistic way of looking at it. All the efforts of humanity up until this point have gone towards sparing us from the horrors of what used to be the human condition. Generations and generations of toil and sacrifice so we could be bored at work instead of dying from the plague.
I struggle with ADHD because I am one of the luckiest human beings born so far.

It’s the other way around. ADHD gives people an evolutionary advantage in crisis situations. Surviving through war, famine, and all the worst situations that humanity has survived through.
ADHD isn’t incompatible with modern life because it got too hard. It’s incompatible with modern life because it got too easy.

I read about a study years ago that said yes, the benefit keeps going up the more caffeine you consume. Not sure I could find it again though.

I think we just need to revise the laws to say that a cop’s testimony doesn’t have any more weight than anyone else’s testimony unless it’s backed up by their bodycam.
Taking cops at their word made sense when we didn’t have this technology. It doesn’t make sense anymore.

I’m usually too lazy when it comes to canceling things, but I canceled Game Pass right away. $30 per month is just offensive.

Tried that. During the last step it switches back to mobile mode and gives a 404 error.

Sorry, I meant mobile browser. I don’t use a PC.

I tried switching to desktop mode on my phone and it switched back to mobile during the last step and gave me a 404 error. I don’t use a PC.
So oh well.

Figured I’d sign up to preserve my username just in case, but it doesn’t work without an app. Oh well.
These sites are supposed to be gateways to the internet. Why the fuck would you put that in any app other than a browser?

I get that, but it seems disproportionate. I mean we’re still talking about it seven years later.

Yeah I never really understood the backlash on that one. I actually would love to play Diablo on my phone. But like a good Diablo.

If they blocked it now, people would just sideload it.

I’ve never liked most of their food, but you used to be able to get a hot, cheap, and quick meal there. And at least the fries were tasty, and the Coca-Cola was perfect.
In the 80s and 90s, going to McDonald’s felt like a guilty pleasure. It felt cheap, but you were in on it so it was ok.
Now it feels cheap at your expense. It’s sparse, like they’re providing the minimal viable product. The fries are garbage, the Coke is garbage, and the service is garbage.

Fun story: I once watched a lone star tick crawl into the headphone jack of my phone. After trying for hours to get it out, I did two google searches:
What eats ticks?
Guinea hen mating sounds.
Thirty seconds later, it crawled out.

Average user here. I don’t have time to take up PCs as a hobby. When I need a computer, I need it to just do what I want so I can be done with it.
PC hobbyists always discount the amount of time and effort it takes to be a PC hobbyist. Like a recipe writer who completely ignores prep time and says a complicated recipe will only take 45 minutes.

Ugh.
Listen to Marjorie Taylor Greene talk, and she’s easily the worst of the worst. But sometimes she does something like this or speaks out against Trump, and in that respect she may actually be one of the better Republicans, which is an extremely, extremely low bar to clear.
That’s a good point, but is it free? Can I use it without giving Apple any money, or do I need to have an Apple product to run it on?
