Welcome friend! I’ve been having a great time with e/os on my FP6.

I recommend the lawnchair launcher if you don’t like the stock one.

I indeed had never heard of it, but now I have! I looks like a great suit of tools!

What’s wrong with Ctrl+C to copy? Its the default shortcut on pretty much everything except terminals.

LLMs are jot a trusted source of information, period. There is no use case that if I could not fond an answer on a search engine, I would trust the hallucinations from an LLM

We should not be using or recommending services dependent on stolen data, which are destroying the environment for essentially zero benefit.

How is it not degoogled?

For me any concerns about e/os are overshadowed by buying one of the most sustainable and “ethical” phones there are currently available, and not supporting google.

This seems like a US problem not a device problem.

From a practical standpoint it’s secure enough for me, and I value the fair sourcing of components and labor a lot more than the little I am losing on security.

I agree, that’s why I have a Fairphone. It’s a way to minimize that impact.

Plus their mission to try to make a phone with fair materials and compensation in their entire production chain. Is it perfect, of course not, but a lot better than all other brands.

That’s keeps the used price for pixels high, which encourages people to buy new pixels cause they know it has a good resale market.

Just give google more money, no thanks. Fairphone with lineage OS is a better option in my opinion.
