Tldr? How?
A lot of people use Signal. It may not be the best solution out there, but it is so, so, so much better than the proprietary alternates.
One good thing is that a normie can easily use it as an alternative to WhatsApp, since the app design is so similar. I mean, it is easy for family and friends to understand and start using Signal, compared to something like Matrix or XMPP.
And if someone needs a little more hardening, they could use the fork called Molly, which has a few more security benefits over the stock app.

I’m in India, and most government websites block VPN usage. I have to turn off my VPN to access them. There is no other way.
One more thing I have noticed is that when I using Mullvad’s ad-blocking DNS (just the DNS, no VPN), many government sites do not load, as in the domain name does not get resolved.

So I can no longer make the joke about removing french language packs using rm -fr /?

Oh, sorry, I didn’t read it correctly. I thought YOU were saying it.

What do you mean bad form doesn’t exist? Serious question.

Look up 23 enigma. It is kind of real, has a Wikipedia page too.

There’s a lot of that, it is just that typical media does not cover them as they are not “interesting”. Like, there was a Surrounded debate where they brought a lot of conspiracy theorists with one journalist, and iirc they only talked about one topic regarding the government, rest was just flat earth, aliens etc.
There are a lot of theorists that claim how much the government is lying about things, manipulating the masses etc, most of which is slowly coming true.
On a side note, if you have played GTA SA, you must have seen The Truth talking so much nonsense. I would like to share this as I have always found this very funny.
CJ: What’s with all the aluminum foil, man?
The Truth: Protection from mind control, dude.
CJ: Mind control?
The Truth: Induction of images, sound or emotion using microwave radiation. D’you know how many government satellites are watching any citizen at any moment?
CJ: No.
The Truth: Twenty three. Do you know how many religious relics are kept at The Pentagon?
CJ: No, I don’t.
The Truth: Twenty three. You see a pattern emerging here, man?
CJ: Man, I’m seeing patterns all over the place! Get that smoke out of my face!
Hehe.
Why give 8/10 to cromite and not 10/10?

I have enabled bridge mode, and am even paying for a static IP.

Airtel provides great service, but they are terrible at such things. They won’t let me disable the WiFi, even though I am in bridge mode and am using my own router. In their UI the options are greyed out. Their “engineers” don’t know anything other than wiring stuff. Half of them say they allow port forwarding, while other half says they don’t allow it for security reasons.
If it is possible for you, get a business connection, rather than a residential one.

Which app is this? BHIM?
It’s infuriating, really.

Why tf are people saying that it was “without permission”?? They installed it, used it, and gave permission to execute commands. I say the user is at fault. It is an experimental piece of software. What else can you expect?

Mailbox provides aliases for free, meaning emails of both [email protected] and [email protected] will come to a single account.
You would need to buy another account in order to keep both of them separate.
Not sure if this helps you, but here’s my experience with email providers.
After leaving gmail, I went to proton, was a paid user of proton for 2 years. I left it for a few reasons, the major one was lack of linux support in their services, like no drive app, late updates, even in VPN app. Some other small reasons were that it didn’t allow many custom domains, harder/complicated SMTP, since I like using Thunderbird. Later, I felt I am paying too much since I don’t need a lot of these services.
Now, I am using mailbox.org with a €3 plan. I manage my own encryption keys. This means I cannot use the webUI, and I can only access my email on devices where those keys are stored. For my use case, this is really good. I can get so many aliases, I can connect so many custom domains. Considering it just as an email service, it is a lot cheaper than others.
