The software is like one of those brides where they bind the feet so they can never become independent. And then services revenue is a goitre on this creatures neck constantly throwing it off balance as it tries to shamble forward.
I very much want ~2010 apple, where the hardware was maybe a bit meh, but the software was top tier.

If you’ve got a parametric effect like this you can animate from screensaver to wallpaper seamlessly, with the wallpaper version using very little energy/not inducing motion.
I use borgbase. It’s not the same, but it’s cheap and not stored in the US.
I just set up a launchd task on my Mac to run my Borg jobs and I never have to think about it. You could do the same with systemd on linux. If you’re on Windows why are you still on Windows?

This affects the rich and executives and politicians as well, and to a greater degree because they filter the people around them.
So systematically these outweigh get survived by sycophants and what we call chatbots psychosis is how they make decisions every single day. Most people don’t tell the CEO no, or their boss, or their politician, so that person feels they’re always right.
Therefore having a certain amount of wealth becomes essentially a mental illness in most people.
AI just lets the poor experience this for the first time.
