Meta actually did the same with mastodon, a lot instances blocked them before federation was turned on. People who use Lemmy are not likely to be up for a tech bro to be federating with them.
That said I’m sure you’ll be able to find and join an instance that would do it if you want it.

I tried to make a second account recently, and it wanted me to scan a qr code with my phone that then wanted to send me a text message. At the same time they were saying “this won’t associate your phone with the account.” I don’t believe that.
When (if) they manage to add federation to it, then both sites could even work together.

I’m pretty sure the MSA just has a clause that says you can only provide accounts to adults. That way it’s up to your org to check.

I recall reading an ex oracle engineer say that the code base is basically spaghetti. Not only that, but you basically have to be lucky to get your pr in, as due to said spaghetti, there is a high chance that it will be broken by the pr merged before yours.

Na this is vide ops. Anyone who thought a coding machine could do ops probably assumes anyone who codes can also do ops. It’s going to be making the same mistakes that have happened in DevOps.
This is why I’ve never taken up the “free tiers” of these big cloud hosting. I looked in to it and there was absolutely no way to limit billing. There is reports and some people say, “setup automation,” but that is something they should have done. Why do I have to code features into their platform?
The lack of control is intentional, the business is happy when this happens as they can extract more money from people.
They need to lower the price of the hosted desktops then, it’s still way more cost effective over time to buy a laptop/desktop for a 3 years cycle than to rent a monthly virtual desktop. The only business that wants it are opex obsessives that hate any capex.

Will I be able to see that before clicking on the video? I just got an update and the video information is now squished to a single line. So if the channel name is long, I can’t see the age of the video. If they add it to the end, everyone will just have long names to hide it.
