15 days agoLowest common denominator, homogeneous commercial slop stations are horrendous, but as you mentioned BBC Radio and ABC in Oz are great. BBC Radio 6 and ABC Triple-J are both great.

Yeah, sure but will an AI you can boil off a lake to generate pictures of me as a hulk, me as a hulk wearing no shirt, me as a hulk wearing ripped pants and I have something in my pants, can you generate nudity, can you generate pictures of naked if it’s non sexual, pictures of me as a hulk getting changed and I just took off my pants to put on other pants non sexual, generate a picture of an eggplant, make the eggplant green, make the tip of the eggplant a darker shade, take the eggplant from @image2 and place it over the crotch of @image1, animate this image, do it again, do it again, starrjummps, do it again, delete my account.
Oh, brilliant! This is exactly what I wanted and directly solves so many problems and frustrations I have with the status quo! Thank goodness for such innovation! I feel seen!

If you plug in a weak charger or an inadequate cable you will get a message on the screen saying as much. Also, the new law doesn’t prevent manufacturers shipping proprietary chargers alongside USB-C.

It actually doesn’t need to be so elaborate. Even a video camera with the lens cap on generates more than enough entropy. Your phone can mix together predictable but unique variations - time of day, free memory, CPU serial number, battery level - with less predictable physical sensory - light level, gyroscope, barometer, last touch points, nearby MAC addresses - to create far more on-board randomness than anyone realistically needs.
That said, the whole Cloudflare lava lamp thing is very cool and also gets people talking.
Creating the secure key pairs used for true E2EE requires a mathematical foundation of true randomness, which can only be achieved on a device by working with the OS, through an API call, to get a random seed that includes pseudorandom numbers from the device’s sensors. There was a post a while back where a dev used ADB to read the API calls used during WhatsApp account setup that showed that no such calls were made, meaning the keys were either totally predictable, or were actually generated by Meta themselves.
Edge before it adopted Chromium was an excellent browser - fast, standards compliant, rock solid. Adopting Chromium is basically them doing the absolute minimum to ship a browser at all without showing someone else’s logo. We use Edge at work - Chrome and Firefox are also supported - and it shocking how many MDM policies we have to have to make Edge usable.
Given how far Tim Apple’s tongue has snaked up inside Trump’s fat ass this last year I wouldn’t worry too much about the “willingly” bit.

Rockstar are good at optimising their games. GTA V ran better than GTA IV on the same hardware. I wouldn’t be surprised if GTA VI runs well on the Steam Deck.
