I mean yeah none of that is wrong but all I said was I like gamification in learning, not that Duolingo was the best form of gamification ever presented.

I ended my sub and deleted my account when they announced they’d be replacing their contract workers with AI.
Lingonaut looks promising. And I’ve been trying out Language Transfer for Spanish. I’ve learned more about how Spanish “works” in an hour of Language Transfer than I did with months of Duolingo. I’m smacking myself for wasting the time - though I do enjoy the gamification.

It’s the University’s responsibility to act when students make reports of hurtful comments coming from a position of power.
If Negy wanted to spew his hate - he could have gone and sat his ass on the Free Speech lawn. Not his lecture hall.

First things first, fuck this article and fuck their ugly-ass AI slop.
Secondly, I’m not gonna comment on the legality or what is protected under 1st amendment- it’s not my expertise. Negy is a piece of shit and everyone I knew who had him as a professor was glad he was gone. His hateful comments weren’t reserved for twitter - he said that shit during his lectures. I also suspect his tweets were a stunt to drum up sales for a book he published around the same time. It’s so easy to sell to conservative morons. Just say some inappropriate things, cry like a baby when the consequences of your actions appear, then hold out your hand as hicks, the sexually repressed, and just plain assholes come flocking to empty their wallets for you.
Exciting. That link doesn’t appear to be public however.

Yeah brother - it’s called the ratio…. also given this post is still up despite your lamenting.

You’re so close! …. Policy on what? Energy tech.
You not considering efficiency measures in household products “energy tech” is a you thing. Everyone else agrees they are.

Energy Tech
👀
I recognize this is a “feature” but I think it should be treated like a bug, or at least let us turn it off!!
Whatever egghead came up with the “keyboard hot zone” that dynamically (and invisibly) increases the size of the keys based on what it thinks you’ll type deserves to be tarred and feathered. Problem is, it’s always fucking wrong. It happened already typing this text, the above “increases” was first typed as “increased” because it expected “d” and thus made the “d” key zone slightly larger and the “s” zone slightly smaller. I tried typing “NCASE”, like the PC case brand, the other day, and I had to try repeatedly to get the “s” key to pop. I kept hitting the “a” key because it expected “NCAA” and increased that key zone.
Just the iPhone keyboard overall is bad. Inconsistent layouts based on where you’re typing. No number row. No period/comma (unless you’re typing a website). Just why.
