never forget will smith spaghetti

gotta count how many fingers it took to pull the trigger

i don’t understand why we’re in disagreement about this. are you not having the same experience as literally everybody else?

part of me thinks “great, those things were annoying”
another part of me thinks it’s a harbinger

you can install it as “dual boot”, which lets you choose either Windows or Linux at boot. this is the best way to test it out, since all it takes up is a bit of storage while you try it. if you decide you don’t like it, you can remove it and pretend like it never happened.
i don’t know enough about graphics cards to tell you anything about that side of stuff, but i have heard complaints about nvidia + linux before. i don’t know if that’s still a thing, but i can only assume it’ll be something that will improve as one country keeps firing some of its best people

excuse me, i’ll just be over here in the dark corner writing my musings in my Victory notebook.
weird to see “AI” and OCR so close together in the same sentence for the first time. won’t be the last i’m sure. ever heard of Ray Kurzweil?

people are already self-censoring for fear that their message won’t be heard. that’s horrible. i’m on lemmy - like many others - because i chose to speak my mind on reddit and received the inevitable “permanent suspension”.
kill the first person who uses the term “pdf file” on this platform. oh shit, i just did it so that would be me. um, kill the SECOND person who uses the term “pdf file” on this platform. oh shit

how long until you’re not allowed to use certain words on your own computer any more? i’m here to assist anyone looking to install Linux - and you don’t even need to commit! you can try it out with nothing but a thumb drive.
edit - the biggest hangup for a long time was gaming. but now that steam is selling its own device, their support for linux has skyrocketed and now you can play just about anything you want on steam. so now what do you have to lose? m365? lol

hard to have a conversation with someone who just downvotes shit they don’t think they agree with, but whatever. everything’s a fucking popularity contest now.

you’re right, and - to your point - Linux vs. Windows poses some potential challenges for some organizations who still cling to the hope that they’ll still hold onto control of anything an a year or two.
on linux, you can access all microsoft office apps for free by using your browser (which is what will totally replace the shit you own in a few years anyway).
so, please tell me why you pay for ads on your OS?

yep, and tons of other reasons, too. i agree with everything you said, but i say that the largest contributor might sound a bit controversial… it all comes down to “kids these days”. or maybe not, but i still think it’s a major component.
edit - i forgot to mention that ‘kids these days’ goes back as far as written time
edit2 - i’m sorry - i’m totally butchering my point.

are you sure you replied to the right comment? i know crack isn’t cheap, so i’d like to try my best to save you the bandwidth

you know, i always wondered why of all places to attack, they chose the twin towers. starting to understand it now.

Bootstraps, folks! Microsoft is basically BEGGING you to try Linux, and it’s now easier than ever - even easier than installing Windows!

LEMMY REPRESENT!

trust me, it would definitely not be the working class.
i appreciate your advice, and i think we’re done talking about it now.

i miss short-term memory.
i’m addressing it (again). been to a billion aa’s, been through a month of rehab detox. the people from concurrent disorders said there’s nothing more they can do, and i swear that zoom groups are specifically designed to make you want to drink even more.
all that said - and yes it’s a problem - but i’m kind of afraid of what i’d become if i quit drinking. it keeps me stuck to my chair. with all that i know and the way the world is going, i’d probably end up bombing a taco bell.

okay, we’ve established that you don’t have a sense of humour. want to chip at a different fault?
and yet you persist. why?
(sorry, this is totally a troll)
