Fuck ICE.
They can’t arrest us all
Ice are just Trumps police. They will be used against all of you in the near future. The way I understand things now is that hormuz will remain closed.
This will create shortages in fertilizer (used in food production, so it will create food shortages) and oil shortages for a lot of countries.
America has its own oil, but food could be affected. This will drive prices up even more. Americans and others will start to get aggressive because they cant afford food anymore. This is why ice is needed. Because some of you Americans have guns and will use them if you get desperate.
I just pulled all money off the stock market myself. I think people are not realizing the importance of hormuz for everything. Its just a delayed effect.
The YouTube channel Predictive History is good to watch to understand the much bigger picture whats happening here.
Some people will say “conspiracy theory” and sure, I understand. I just like to be careful. If hormuz opens, we can all say im stupid. :)
Effects have started in some countries:
In Asia, where most Hormuz oil traffic goes, many countries have already reached the logical endgame of low reserves. Refineries have been cutting their flows, governments have resorted to active rationing, and price-sensitive consumers are cutting back. The Philippines has declared a national energy emergency. India has halted commercial liquefied petroleum gas supplies — used widely for heating, cooking, and vehicle fuel. Japan has curtailed bus and ferry services because of fuel shortages.

For real.
Wrong. The glasses will misidentify in real time.
The goal is to “accidentally” arrest and deport US citizens.
Will they care / understand about false positives?
Not likely.
Feature, not bug.
As long as they kill p. of c., it’ll be deemed legal 🫡🤢
Their “facial recognition” ends up just being a binary switch on a light detector
Took me waaaaay longer than it should have to realize “p. of c.” means “people of color”.
Still haven’t figured out if you’re censoring it, or if you think p. of c. is a faster way to abbriviate it.
Either way, that “shorthand” is stupid, and you should just write it out.
Folks who work in social justice will know the acronym “POC” but “p. of c.” I don’t usually encounter.
Are we sure it’s not “prince of caspian?”
Naw, it’s price of coffee. It’s way too high and needs to be brought down.
You’ve got my vote
I’m pretty sure ice is more diverse than every single protest against them.
You don’t need to ask about likelihood. It’s already been shown they don’t: https://www.aclu.org/news/privacy-technology/more-than-a-dozen-wrongful-arrests-due-to-police-reliance-on-facial-recognition-technology
Remember 20 years ago when Wikileaks was telling us about all the false positives swept up in the War on Terror dragnet?
Both Bush and Obama got reelected. No one at the federal level gives a shit.
Imagine they would at the very least have some sort of double check procedure like a skin color chart they could reference if there was any question.
Why bother they just target random people anyway. I have never seen any indication that their behaviour is in any way directed.
The point is to absolve the human behind the arrest from responsibility. “The system” gets to do the decision making, then the human can’t be responsible for making a mistake and arresting the wrong person.
So we are doing “just following orders” again?
More the corporate “this was an unforseeable error in the system” that absolves themselves of any responsibility.
It was, in fact, foreseen.
The American people should wear masks and sun glasses when out.
Head to toe body covering… wait…
Isn’t there some kind of weird reflective material that messes with it? Or is that just the stuff celebrities use so it crazily over excuses paparazzi pictures?
Targets for what??? Being brown? They need AI to confirm their racism? Was the old peter griffin white/not white chart not doing it for them anymore???
My thoughts were that now they can ID people tagged as “dissenters” to widen the net.
You can’t be called a racist if a machine decides it for you, same as if a drone does the killing, it mean you can’t get convicted for murder even if you hit button to fire
/s
If I point the gun, the gun evaluates the target, the gun automatically fires - then I’m not even doing anything!
(I should rewatch psycho-pass…)
Hmmm… no. The defense “the machine decided” and “but the drone does the killing” will not fly in any sane system (which exclude the US).
Someone decided to use the machine|drone, this someone is responsible.I would like to clarify that ‘/s’ means sarcasm and is no way a serious response, I understand not everyone is terminally online
I think they need AI to blame for their racism.
(ah others were quicker)
I’m sure that’s what it will be: proprietary and questionable algorithms to identify anyone that might not be a 3+ generation American of European origin.
And to shove justification off to a black box. Awful hard to put an algorithm on trial.
They’re gonna fall back on the algo being racist and not the storm troopers with the nazi tattoos, those guys are just doing what the AI tells them.
They need AI to confirm their racism?
Not confirm, but justify. “Hey, it’s not me - it’s this little machine that says you’re subhuman. I’m just doing my job here, man.”
It’ll use AI and even if you have your passport and birth certificate on you, proving they’re wrong, you’ll be in El Salvador before you can plead your case.
i think that’s already the case
USA is going nowhere
Disagree. What’s further than hell?
Nah they are going to El Salvador.
The glasses don’t have to work, they just need “plausible” excuses for picking up anyone who catches their fancy. $1,500 a head, be it man, child, or woman.
Time to get your Insane Clown Posse makeup working.

I was thinking more Jokerz, but honestly ICP is cool by me. Not really my thing, but they’ve always been anti-fash and after Violent J’s daughter got into the furry fandom and formed an alliance, they’re solid in my book.
I think there was an article a while back about how juggalo makeup is actually very effective at blocking facial recognition
Fucking magnets, how do they work?
Notably the risks aren’t simply that this will identify the undocumented its that it will provide a pretext to disappear almost anyone who isn’t white.
The question is does any given non-white person look enough like one of over 10M people to get falsely flagged given agents a pretext to remove almost anyone they stop. Facial recognition of one person against a large enough database will almost always provide at least on possible match this is especially true if it matches against possible aliens and not against possibly aliens and citizens. EG a query of both will likely turn up Betty Sue Smith is herself and maybe a possible match with Known Deportable but a search against only aliens may return only Known Deportable with agents dismissing any claim by Betty that her ID must be fake.
it will provide a pretext to disappear almost anyone who isn’t white.
Pretty sure you don’t need a.i. glasses to figure out what colour someone is.
You use AI glasses which claim to identify aliens because you can use its constant false positives to pretend to be following the law.
No but you can say “The AI told me to detain them” and not take any responsibility. “I was just answering orders” is sadly too common of an excuse in dooing the worst things…
And if anyone believes that absolves them of responsibility, they deserve all the police stating they get.
You guys have to install using fake mustaches/nose/glasses thing as a new trend… idk how do you call this
Groucho glasses.
Always has been.
Cameras are THE tools for surveilance, and adding more everywhere has always had only one goal.
Time to carry portable EMPs
… uhhh how do I make one?
You don’t need a portable EMP.
All you need is basic KN95 mask and a hoodie. Or you can invest in sunglasses or ID-blocking eyeglasses, like IDGuard from Zenni. The point is to have your features covered as much as is feasible. When I go to a protest I wear a costume that covers my whole head and a jumpsuit.
You should have a KN95 on anyway if you’re going out among people.
You should know facial recognition software is optimized to defeat KN95 masks specifically
What do you think what you posted even means? covering most of what it is using to identify is already going to make it drastically more difficult to match
Not really. It’s trivial to match your face. If you use an iPhone with FaceID it won’t miss a beat. You have to cover your full face, head, and eyes.
The problem with this is that the idea of “KN95 and a hoodie” is that you’d still reasonably blend in. By the time you reach the point t of covering every identified part of your head, you’d also stick out like a sore thumb which doesn’t help you when the camera surveilling you is attached to the face of an ICE agent looking specifically in your direction.
Face id is putting a very good camera very close to your face and asking it if the face inches from the screen and stationary with respect to the camera matches exactly one face.
Facial recognition is asking a worse camera if a moving partially obscured face is one of 338M legal residents and citizens or potentially millions of illegal folks. Since this is inherently an incredibly harder task it doesn’t take much to make it impossible.
Then wear a cloth one with a pattern on it.
This isn’t difficult.
That won’t work either and it’s very difficult as a matter of fact.
Agreed that there’s no perfect solution.
But one can, and should, make it harder, and if your head, eyes, and face are covered (which is exceedingly easy and inexpensive to do with a ball cap, sunglasses, and a face mask) it’s going to beat all but the best systems.
Do you have a reliable link to show this? I’m asking not to challenge or sealion, but because I’d like to know the limits of what you’re referring to for my own safety and privacy.
Thanks. I think that’s enough to see where you’re going. It’s on me to find better evidence, so I looked and it looks like a 2020 NIST report suggests masks increase the failure rate in 89 tested algorithms from 0.3% to 5-50%.
That failure rate is enough to give plausible deniability and reasonable doubt in a court, I’d wager. But I’m sure ICE sees a higher failure rate a feature since it likely gives them more pretexts to arrest. At least we know the technology isn’t reliable enough to support it.
I mean court’s not really a factor. The surveillance tech is only to help identify targets. One they nab you that’s it. The Supreme Court already ruled that it’s ok for them to target people based only on race. The confidence level of the tech against your covered face is sorta irrelevant in this scenario.
Suddenly reminded of an article I saw from like… TEN years ago talking about anti-surveillance makeup and haircuts. It was just like painting block shapes in multiple colors on your face haha.
The IR blocking glasses won’t help with normal CV though, right? If you wear those glasses and try to unlock your iPhone, it won’t work because the IR array can’t read the facial features behind the glasses, but if you take a photo of yourself with said iPhone, they will appear as normal glasses
Sure, but that won’t knock it out for people who don’t have their own mask
Get a disposable camera, it won’t be large enough to do much but it’s a fun little project and you can learn the concept
